“When they go low, we go high” is a phrase credited to Michelle Obama, who used it during the campaign of the 2016 elections in the US, when the Republican Party was getting personal in their attacks. (You know who!)

🎯It quickly became something of a slogan for exercising restraint in the face of provocation.

🎯She unpacked the slogan recently:

💥”Going high doesn’t mean you don’t feel the hurt, or you’re not entitled to an emotion,” she explained.

💥“It means that your response has to reflect the solution. It shouldn’t come from a place of anger or vengefulness. Barack and I had to figure that out.

💥Anger may feel good in the moment, but it’s not going to move the ball forward.”

🎯The bird, Eagle, loved by the Bible, has a beautiful version of it.

💥The only bird that dares to peck an eagle is the raven. It sits on the eagle’s back and bites its neck.

💥However, the eagle doesn’t respond or fight with the raven.

💥It does not waste time or energy with the raven.

💥It just opens its wings and begins to fly higher in the sky.

💥The higher the flight, the harder it is for the raven to breathe and the raven eventually falls due to lack of oxygen.

🎯Not all battles are worth fighting. Most of them are mere distractions of the enemy.

🎯The battles of a child of God are God’s anyway, so why fight people who would always find something wrong with you?

🎯Just go high, raise the standard, and they’ll fall off!
