When everything, everyday ends at the same point, we lose interest in life; we lose hope; we lose our creativity. We slip into a Vicious Circle of Hopelessness!
🎯Vicious Circle is a sequence of reciprocal cause and effect in which two or more elements intensify and aggravate each other, leading inexorably to a worsening of the situation.
🎯That was the case of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate, who was healed by Peter.
🎯The irony of his life was that he was in a beautiful place with an ugly problem.
🎯He was in at a point of access, the gate to the temple, but he couldn’t go in.
🎯He had resigned to fate; making excuses to comfort his incapacity.
🎯We sometimes find ourselves in that situation, making excuses like I wasn’t meant to rise; I wasn’t meant to marry; I don’t have enough education; I am from a poor background.
🎯When you make a routine of poor life you remain there.
🎯If you don’t believe you can make it, you can’t.
🎯You get stuck in your routine of failure.
🎯Routine is even sometimes endorsed by religion.
🎯But when you have a relationship with God you expect something new everyday.
🎯The lame beggar was by a golden gate but he had low expectations.
🎯When Peter and John got there, he was expecting the routine of coins dropped in his tray.
🎯When we encounter God we should lift our expectations; to break the vicious circle of hopelessness.
🎯Peter told the lame man, Silver and gold I have not; but what I have, this give I to thee: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean rise up and walk!” And his life changed! God’s intervention!
God is a breaker of Vicious Circles!
