Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has said the CBN will not extend the January 31st deadline for the old naira notes.
* The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has voted to increase the interest rate from 16.5 per cent to 17.5 per cent to fight inflation aggressively.
* The Senate and House of representatives have asked the Central Bank of Nigeria to extend the deadline for the withdrawal of old naira notes from circulation. The resolution was passed on the floor of the senate and house of representatives on Tuesday.
