Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Saturday night abducted the wife and two children of the Katsina State lawmaker representing Bakori Local Government Area at the State House of Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Kurami.
* Armed bandits in their large numbers on Friday night invaded Magami community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, killing no fewer than 20 villagers in what source close to the community said was a reprisal by the gunmen. On Wednesday night, the men of the Special Security Task Force, comprising the Police, Local Hunters and Vigilante, launched an attack on the bandits, killing about 40 of them and recovered 16 motorcycles and arms and ammunitions, mostly AK47 rifles.
* Suspected gunmen have killed a member of the senior staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Abubakar Garba Muhammad. Muhammad was said to have been murdered at his residence at Burshin Fulani along Bauchi – Dass Road in the early hours of Saturday — about 2.30am.
