A commanding officer and a senior officer in one of the battalions of operation Hadin Kai were killed when fighters of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked Rann, a town in Kala Balge LGA of Borno State on Thursday night. Some 24 hours after the attack in Rann, Boko Haram also attacked Malam Fatori in Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State. The troops killed 20 ISWAP fighters in battle at Rann.
* The police have confirmed the kidnapping of over 20 persons by bandits in Unguwan Gimbiya in Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Police spokesperson in the state, Mohammed Jalige, said the bandits stormed the community at about 1 a.m., killing two people and taking away 20 residents before the arrival of security operatives.
* The 1000 Housing Estate in Maiduguri, Borno state capital was rocked by an explosion, believed to be from mortars, in the early hours of Saturday.
* Residents of Shinkafi local government area in Zamfara State have cried out to the government over constant blockade of their roads by bandits.
