08 Jun IGP Baba Bans Roadblocks, Vehicles With Tinted Windscreens
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has announced the immediate suspension of tinted windscreens on vehicles in Nigeria.
He issued the directive on Monday during a meeting with senior police officers, including Deputy Inspectors-General (DIGs) and commissioners from across the states.
Reiterating that roadblocks remained prohibited in the country, he warned that heads of commands must enforce the ban and key into the road patrol strategy as an alternative to roadblocks.
On the arrest of high-profile criminals, the IGP said, some of them in police custody include members of IPOB, kidnappers, and bandits who had confessed to committing some of the most heinous crimes in recent times.
He stressed the need for the senior police officers to ensure discipline in their various commands.
