Highlights of FEC Meeting

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) at its weekly meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday, approved the establishment of a mechanism for indigenous farmers to achieve right prices for their goods and commodities. With that foreigners and their representatives are banned from purchasing agricultural commodities at the farm gates directly.

* The Council also approved a trade policy action plan with the theme “Unleashing Nigeria’s Development Potentials through Trade and Investment.”

* The Council approved a new security measure making it compulsory for all federal public institutions that embark on any ICT project up to the tune of N1bn to obtain a quality assurance certificate from the National Information Technology Development Agency.

* The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd, Mele Kolo Kyari, told the council that about 1.9 billion liters was available to last for 32 days.
