COVID-19 Update: Without Lagos data, Rivers leads in daily count

Without data from Lagos State, which has been leading the daily toll in the third wave, Rivers State led with 170, as Nigeria reported a total of 375 new cases and 6 deaths.

The 357 new cases were reported from 12 states: Rivers(170), Ondo (38), Gombe (34), Ogun (20), Ekiti (20), FCT (18), Anambra (16), Oyo (13), Kwara (10), Imo (6), Bayelsa (6), Edo (6)

There are now 183444 confirmed cases, 167459 recoveries and 2229 deaths.

* The United Kingdom on Tuesday donated 699,760 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to the Federal Government. This is the first tranche of the 1,299,760 expected from the UK Government through the COVAX facility.

* President of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Prof. Benedict Oramah, has disclosed that the bank will supply a total of 40 million doses of Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to Nigeria between now and 2022.
