COVID-19 Update: Second phase of vaccination begins

The Federal Government yesterday rolled out the second phase of vaccination at the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi, Abuja.

The Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, which is spearheading the programme, said the kick-off involved the 4,000,080 Moderna vaccines doses donated by the United State (U.S.).

* Monday Caseload: 584 new cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria yesterday. There are now 183087 confirmed cases with 167310 recoveries and 2223 deaths.

The 584 new cases were reported from 15 states: Lagos (201), Rivers (149), FCT (82), Ondo (73), Ekiti (17), Cross River (13), Oyo (11), Ogun (9), Delta (8), Osun (8), Bayelsa (4), Kaduna (4), Kano (2), Kwara (2), and Sokoto (1)

* Following increasing cases of COVID-19 the authorities of the University of Ibadan said they are considering a combination of online and physical classes for the reminder of the 2020/2021 academic session.
