18 Nov COVID-19 Update: Nigeria reports 82 new cases, zero deaths
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 82 new cases in 8 states, 39 recoveries and zero deaths on Wednesday.
Nigeria now has 213,403 confirmed cases, 206,245 recoveries and 2,973 deaths across the 36 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
The new infections were reported in: Rivers (52), Kano (9), Kebbi (6), Kaduna (5), Plateau (5), Enugu (3), Bauchi (1) and Lagos (1)
* A study says mask-wearing is an effective public health measure for tackling COVID and reducing infections by 53 percent. According to the study, systematic review and meta-analysis of non-pharmaceutical interventions showed that mask-wearing, social distancing and handwashing are all effective measures at curbing cases – with mask-wearing being the most effective.
