New infections in Nigeria on Wednesday were 1,355; with 311 recoveries and 1 death. So, the caseload is now 240374 confirmed cases, 213491 recoveries and 3028 deaths.

The new cases were reported from 9 States and the FCT with Lagos in the lead: Lagos (1,036), Nasarawa (92), Delta (58), FCT (57), Edo (44), Rivers (25), Kano (23), Enugu (11), Plateau (6), and Bayelsa (3)

* The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned the Omicron and Delta COVID-19 variants could produce a “tsunami” of cases that will put “immense pressure” on health systems.
