27 Oct COVID-19 Update
With the 119 new cases and 2 deaths announced on Monday, Nigeria now has total of 62,111 confirmed cases and 1032 deaths, with 57, 571 recoveries.
The 119 new cases are reported from 6 states: Lagos (77), FCT (26), Plateau (9), Edo (4), Oyo (2), Nasarawa (1),
The Federal Government has urged states and other stakeholders not to completely close isolation centres because of the drop in the number of cases on admission and apparent decline in the number of active COVID-19 cases, but to keep them for a possible surge in cases and a second wave of the pandemic as evident in other countries.
At a news conference on Monday, World Health Organization (WHO) officials suggested travel restrictions, stay at home orders or even national lockdowns may be needed across Europe to tackle the fresh outbreaks, as governments try to tackle fresh waves of coronavirus infections.
