COVID-19: Buhari, delegation to go on isolation after London trip

President Muhammadu Buhari and members of his delegation to the United Kingdom are to go on isolation after their two-week stay in London.

While they were in London, some members of the embassy staff, tested positive to COVID-19 and the mission was shut for 10 days.

Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, told The Guardian that the President and members of his delegation would have to go on isolation in line with the guideline for international travels.

He said, “Mr President and all of those on his delegation will isolate in line with NCDC guidelines for international travel. They all tested yesterday (Friday) and will follow up with another test in due course,”

President Buhari was accompanied on the trip by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of State Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd) and Director General of National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, among others.

Saturday Caseload: Infections and deaths in Nigeria remained high on Saturday at 665 new cases in 13 states and 8 deaths.

There are now 181,962 confirmed cases, 166826 recoveries and 2219 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 665 new cases were reported Lagos (369), Anambra (68), Oyo (63), Akwa Ibom (48), Kwara (28), Rivers (26), Edo(21), Ekiti (15), Ondo (13), Delta (7), FCT (3), Ogun (3), and Gombe (1)
