Climbing out of a hole

Climbing out of a hole

From time to time we find ourselves in holes for various reasons – circumstances and through our own fault.

🎯The first physical step for a turnaround is accepting the reality of what has happened to work on it.

🎯Reliving past events and allowing ourselves to become consumed with anger, guilt or regret is not healthy.

🎯Rather than worrying about what we could have done differently, we should start thinking about what changes we want to make moving forward.

🎯Taking responsibility: When adversity strikes, people often feel like victims, looking for someone to blame. This is not a constructive way to approach the situation.

🎯Recognising what we have learnt and deploying those experiences that make us stronger, better prepared for life is the way to go.

🎯Identifying new goals: There is no better time to take stock of the direction we were headed and look for other options, especially things we are wired or gifted to do, things we are passionate about.

🎯Once we have set some new goals for ourselves, we should forget the past and give it all it takes in dictating our own destiny, and following our dreams!

🎯We should know that it is madness doing the same old things, repeating our mistakes and expecting new results.

🎯If God allowed it to change us we have to obey Him; in the case of the loss of a loved one we have to seek Him for enduring comfort and strength; and even where we are our own enemy we need His grace to change our ways.

🎯He made us; He knows how to fix us.
