🌍 Brent crude rises above $49 a barrel: Oil prices rose for a fifth day on Thursday after a surprise fall in U.S. crude inventories gave further legs to a rally driven by optimism that vaccines will end the coronavirus pandemic and revive demand for fuels. Brent futures were up 45 cents, or 0.9%, at by 0245 GMT, after rising around 1.6% in the previous session
🌍 FEC MEETING: President Buhari presided over the 26th virtual meeting, where the following transpired. FEC approved N39.771bn for various road maintenance contracts and others. They include:
* N22 billion for road construction in Yobe, Edo and Taraba States
* N17.754 billion for emergency procurement of first and second quarters 2020 soil erosion, flood and pollution control as accelerated intervention projects of the federal government.
* the supply and installation of 12 on-site flameless/smell-less incinerators for the national blood transfusion centres in some federal medical centres and teaching hospitals awarded
*supply and installation of six containerised incinerators for the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), one in each geo-political zone
🌍 COVID-19 Update: The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 198 new cases, 182 recoveries and no death in 12 states and the FCT. The new pandemic numbers are 66,805 confirmed cases; 62, 493 recoveries and 1,169 deaths
🌍 Finance Minister Zainab Ahmed, says the country hopes to quickly exit recession and save the economy through rigorous implementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan.
🌍 Foreign Affairs Minister Onyeama says FG has reached out to the British government to with its own side of the story on the #EndSARS protests.
