Sleeping in raging storms.

Sleeping in raging storms.

Elijah fled when Jezebel, Ahab’s wife, threatened his life. In his state of depression, he even told God to kill him.

💥Then he slept off until an angle woke him up to eat for a journey he was about to embark on.

🎯But the ability to sleep in a life- threatening situation, as Jesus did in a storm on a lake, must be rooted in deep faith in God to help us ride storms.

🎯There is an important lesson here for every believer.

🎯It is God, who gives His beloved sleep, even in a storm; and He says to the righteous, it shall be well with you.

🎯No matter the strength of bodyguards and the sophistication of gadgets for physical protection, they are useless during spiritual attacks.

🎯Only God can protect us in such situations, so in the comfort of His protection, we can afford to sleep in the peace that passes all understanding.

🎯A child of God should stop worrying over physical and spiritual storms because safety is of the Lord.

🎯We should learn to put our lives in God’s hands, for the Bible assures us that He will never forsake us.

🎯We should be assured that the God who stilled storms in our lives or the lives of others before can do it repeatedly, when we are on His side.

🎯Even in life-threatening storms, we can relax because if Jesus is in our boat it can’t sink.

🎯He doesn’t promise a storm-free life but He assures us of His company and victory.

💥“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” Jesus assures.

🎯However, the assurance is for His children; those who have surrendered their lives to God.
