Nigeria recorded 212 new cases on Thursday, raising total confirmed cases to 64,728, with 60790 recoveries and 1162 deaths.

The 212 new cases are reported from 17 states: Lagos (71), Imo (26), Plateau (26), FCT (19), Ondo (17), Kaduna (14), Rivers (9), Oyo (9), Katsina (6), Osun (4), Bauchi (2), Ekiti (2), Nasarawa (2), Ogun (2), Kano (1), Kwara (1), Taraba (1),” the NCDC said.

* The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the COVID-19 Pandemic has expressed concern over the rate of testing in the country, noting that it is too low to defeat the outbreak in the country with a population like Nigeria.

* It said that there will be no relaxing of the COVID-19 protocols ahead of the Christmas season, and advised both incoming and outgoing travelers to suspend their travels if it was not necessary.

* In the United States, where the COVID -19 protocols where abandoned by large sections of the population for politics, daily cases reached a new high of 147,000, putting health workers and resources under extreme pressure.
