🌎FBN Holdings Plc recorded significant growth in its Q1 financial performance, with a 53.64% increase in profit before tax, reaching N56.105 billion. Profit after tax also showed strong growth of 54.48%, reaching N50.054 billion.

🌎Security Stories: No fewer than 82 Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) fighters and their families have drowned in a river in the north-east axis of Damasak in Borno state, in an attempt to escape massive troop incursion.

🌎Russia-Ukraine War: Russia continues to suffer “significant losses” during fighting around the eastern city of Bakhmut, according to the commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces. The Wagner private military company says it has handed most of its positions in the city to Russia’s military.
* Ukraine is ready to launch a counteroffensive, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
* Officials in western Russia have reported Ukrainian drone attacks and shelling as the war spreads beyond Ukraine’s borders. Kyiv has not commented on the claims.
* In Ukraine, Russia launched more than 60 airstrikes, 15 missile strikes and a dozen ground assaults over 24 hours on Friday, according to the Ukrainian military
* Russian and Ukrainian officials have reported a series of explosions in Russian-occupied cities of the southern Zaporizhzhia region Saturday.
