🌍The Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19, led by the secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha, has put six states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on a red alert in response to the outbreak of the Delta variant in the country and the rising number of new cases and hospitalisations. The affected states, are Lagos, Oyo, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau and the nation’s capital, FCT.

* Saturday Caseload: Nigeria on Saturday recorded 123 new cases in 8 states, 6 recoveries and zero deaths. So there are now 169329 confirmed cases, 164672 recoveries and 2126 deaths.

🌍OPEC+ ministers plan to hold their next meeting on Sunday to decide on output policy, according to Reuters on Saturday. The development comes after Saudi Arabia and the UAE reached a compromise last week in a dispute over OPEC+ policy, in a move that should unlock a deal to supply more crude to a tight oil market and cool soaring prices.
