Adeboye clarifies that Christians don’t need guns for self-defence

General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has clarified that Christians don’t need guns for self-defence.

Adeboye was explaining an earlier message where he was quoted to have asked Christians to buy guns for their self-protection and that of  churches during service, saying that Samson was victorious in biblical times without guns.

Pastor Adeboye said this during a thanksgiving sermon at Mount Carmel prayer mountain in his hometown, Ifewara, Osun State.

The General Overseer said no one can be killed until the stipulated time, and so no one should stay away from church because of fear of being attacked.

Adeboye said, “I never asked Christians to buy guns, Christians don’t need guns. Samson did not fight with an AK-47. Don’t go and buy guns.”

He said Samson used what was available, a jaw bone to fight, suggesting that Christians can use weapons available to them, one of which is prayers.
